Array ( [sid] => 17672 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => One Wish [time] => 2003-05-16 19:35:00 [hometext] => This was actually my first attempt at a poem based on a child's wish on a single star. I guess you might say it was inspired by the song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". ^^ [bodytext] =>

Upon the windowsill I sat, wishing upon the first star I saw that night.

“Oh star, grant my wish I make tonight,” I said into the dew of the eve night. Closing my little eyes, I begun to make my wish. My wish was simple with intent neither on gold nor on jewels. My wish was simple, simply this:

Happiness

Looking at the twinkling star that seems to near yet so far. I couldn’t help but noticed as it twinkled, it winked at me as if it was truly playful.

I cocked my head to the side, watching it dim and brighten as the minutes rolled by. I smiled with hope in my heart the my simple wish would come true. Getting up from the windowsill, a full smile on my rounded face. I made my way to my little snuggle soft bed. Tucking myself in, one last glance to the star.
It would be years before I realized the power behind my wish and my little wish star.
