Last Train
by
Arkay Oghe

I'm sittin' here cradlin' my wine,
in the warm sunshine,
just waitin' on time;
Ain't got nothin' else to do;
Everybody's here but you;
I'd a sent flowers,
but I thought you knew...

The party's just about to begin;
the gang's standin' 'round millin';
they're ready and willin';
Gonna party hard and wet;
Band's itchin' to play its first set;
But, I'm a bit concerned,
'cause you ain't here yet...

[music:]

Don't know if I'll recognize,
if I'll realize,
it's you beneath some disguise;
Ain't gonna worry,
Skip to the end of the story;
Life moseys moment to moment;
you can't make it hurry...

Destiny takes its time;
don't travel in no straight line;
exists in the sublime;
Don't feel compelled to fret;
The end ain't here yet;
But, I got answers,
and I need someone to interpret...

[music:]

I got this script with lines labeled: Me;
it says what I'm suppose to be;
even describes the scenery;
Don't know what it's doin' in my hand;
Don't wanna know
what I can't understand;
But it's obvious, you ain't here,
and that ain't how I had it planned...

I keep forgettin' my next line;
can't hold on to what was never mine;
keep feelin' I been left behind;
I'll drink my wine;
Soak up the warm sunshine;
But, you should be here by now;
it's a lifetime past nine...

[music:]

Knowledge is its own reward;
a cause that don't need no sword,
or a king, a president, or a lord;
I should consider my Self blest;
Lay my head down and rest;
But, I'm human; I'm alone,
and I sure enough thought
you'd be here by now...

Guess I'll just have to smile,
even though all the while,
I'll be bleedin' my Self empty
the last mile;
No sense spreadin' the pain;
Everybody's got plenty of rain;
You prob'ly got held up in traffic,
or you missed the last train...
You prob'ly got held up in traffic,
or you missed the last train...
You prob'ly got held up in traffic,
or you missed the last train...

[coda:]

Yes grate song I'd love to hear it. Sad but beautiful story. It's hard when you love someone and your not their priority. Non the less very very good rite. Get your song out there let the Dj's spin it.

Greetings
Rus

Nicely done. Tight lyrics and an infectious beat.
