A cluster of grapes before the dawn
A bitter wine spoiled by the sun

All of my love is spilt out
So that I am rent
Unfit

My heart has lost its strength
The moonlight in a storm
Starlight in the water

Very powerful words, Abe.
Good work even in it's sadness.
Big huggs,

Wow! "Starlight in the water..." What a metaphor! I can see the ripples disembodying the light of a star...it comes together, it splits apart...substanceless...a magnificent ball of fission, or is it fussion...doesn't matter; a mighty orb of fire rendered substanceless by its arch enemy...water...

When this story plays out in the heart, it is a bitter wine.

Wonderful!

I always hated it when I painted or wrote something that represented pain in my life and somebody said...that's beautiful...that's wonderful...hello? my pain is beautiful? My ache is wonderful?

Since then, forty-some-odd years later, I have come to appreciate: When given lemons, make lemonade; when given s***, make fertilizer; just make something useful... You have made something useful to me and that is both beautiful and wonderful.

Thanks...
