Array ( [sid] => 17638 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Falling Petals [time] => 2003-05-16 04:35:00 [hometext] => This poem came to me when I was admiring the blooming lilacs, and pondering the difficulties in a loved one's life. [bodytext] => Each falling petal a drop of
hope that can no longer stay afloat
in worlds of worry and desire
sinking into the manmade fire.

One petal lost and not one gained
in these strange worlds without much change
where people rush to be the best
and disappointed in the rest.

Other flowers bloom and grow. Of
their demise they do not know and
care they not how petals spent when
it comes time to pay the rent.

In the end all things are dust, the
fires ash that once were lust. Petals
soft are soft no more, remnants of
hopes no longer hoped anymore. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 191 [topic] => 25 [informant] => Jessica_Saini [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

Great poem. It is interesting how you have laid it out on the page. Not how I would have chosen but it works!
