Array ( [sid] => 175962 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Amen [time] => 2013-05-05 02:37:01 [hometext] => this is technically a 'lack of religion' poem. i think that will come through, without any ambiguity.....Comments=one bad karma incident erased!!! [bodytext] => Amen
-=-=-=

a smile like throwing teeth down a hole,
couldn't care less about the sickening soul.
refuses to pray for a heaven....Amen,
as hate holds it's heat in a heart-shaped hole

eyes glint like granite gone glassy with rain,
staring at Nothing and knowing it's name
gave up the quest for salvation...Amen.
Now pleasure and pain are one and the same.

Never guess by the smile and sane-seeming way,
this everyday person with his everyone day
can't even pray with a straight face...Amen,
but hey, God, if you're real, Just kidding...okay?

see, comfort comes dressed in the selfish belief
that Faith is no more than Guilt and Fear, breathing.
Like God even cares about blah, blah....Amen.
When Faith died at birth, Sin stood there...relieved.

Scorched honesty, sinner, epitaph
Amen indeed!
Oh holey F/ it's good if it is / whatever the hell it
is. Amen! Holey smokes, blue smurf
a blue people, People. poisonous passion, Kurt Vonnegut,
real space man. Holey Jeeper's man. Your writing is quite neeto. And to that I say Amen! Sin is a prick. A prickly bastard... no wait --- I'm a damn sinner too! I wish I weren't God damn!!! F me. LOL.
An old Irish priest shared with me his home spun dandelion wine, recited Joyce, as I babbled on about the holy ghost, and he never even tried to correct me. I missed his point entirely.
What a dumb asse I am, he kindly didn't say. Amen!
Peace!

i don't care much for contemporary approach to poetry, and it doesn't move me. but your piece, I applaud, I read it several times, and unlike may poet wannabes, you have talent. you rhyme, you maintain rhythm and metrics. Great imagery and choice of metaphor. "eyes glint like granite gone glassy with rain' beautiful. hope to read more

You are definitely on target here. What I like is that you have been true to yourself. You have avoided the pitfalls I have fallen into and you don't need the world's opinion. I learned that lesson late and have left my mistakes for all to see. I'm sure you mess up too and yet you come across so clear here.
