The jungle percolates with noises and life
The time comes for each of us
To make a choice between what is wrong and what is right

The heavens above us open up
As the oceans swell with melting ice
The earth beneath our feet hold us firm and still
As we try to outrun our fears and embrace comfort in one another's arms

Telling secrets and spewing gossip
We are intrigued with one another's lives
Searching for love and finding peace we pray for more than we deserve
Our screams are heard
Our pain is felt
And when there are only moments left
We come to our senses
But it is too late
We are relegated to our fate
Escape is futile
Climb the gates
The top is electrified
You will be shot for your mistakes

Capturing the essence of what it means to truly feel
Believing in our ability to discern what is fantasy and what is real
What to buy and not to steal
When to kiss and how to kneel
The Lord insists
On a full commitment that I can not give
Caught in a window between living life and simply being alive to live
Choosing to do less
Even if it means risking loosing more
A chance on us means the potential for greatness
No one can force your hand
If you offered I would accept it
Or walk out the door

As we lay our heads to rest our weary souls
We are reminded of what it was like being young and youthful and what it must be like getting decrepit and old
We pray for forgiveness knowing full well our thoughts are never purged
Of perverse images
Messy finishes
And showers in the cold
We ask to simply awake tomorrow and continue the journey of the untold

Somewhere in the distance the answers are hidden in plain sight
Years from this instance a revelation will shine vigorously bright
And in retrospective logic we will pontificate and discover the truth
There is no rhyme or reason for why some of us win and most of us usually lose.

I really liked that! I love the combination of long and short sentences, it really made it flow somehow. It is really powerful and meaningful and i especially liked the fourth paragraph, that was really good.

What I wouldn't give to sit down with you and have a long coffee chat.
You Sir, have a beautiful mind, and I could examine your thoughts for days.

One day...The stars will align.
