I look in the mirror and I see my own worst friend
I feel the energy that only hating oneself can bring
The rush is torment
With it are the winds of shame

Every sunrise the day begins with unrelenting sadness
An optimist shows himself to be a sick sadist
No apologies can ever make up for my grievances
All this pain that I have earned has broken me down to pieces

Every minute I am constantly reminded
My thoughts and my actions are perpetually divided
My fate has not been left to my own devices
Events have been ordained and previously decided
Long before the subatomic particles collided
The riot incited
By the mass hysteria
Of people acting overly excited

Every opportunity has been wasted and squandered
I had everything in the world and I tossed it in the garbage
Everything to live for and make myself happy
Nothing salvaged

Torn into shreds and burnt in the fire
Torched by my touch
Repulsed by me being me too much
For anyone to handle
A lovers scandal
Leads to heartache
A preamble
Enough is enough

Every second that passes
Is one less that I have to worry about
A coiled spring of anxiety
I am ready to unleash on those closest to me
And I have
And they have sprung
Towards the opposite direction
Effectively running away
Turning their heads
And leaving me to wonder
How many things I could have done differently instead
Leaving me uncomfortable in my own bed
A miracle they stayed for this long...
The blue waters of the Nile now blood red

Every girl that passes me on the street I look for your face
Knowing full well you don't want to see me
and consider me a disgrace
A pathetic fool who took no pride in his own allotted place
A man who knew not what he had until having it was no longer the case
A state of flux
The love rises
The tides falls
And all eventually fades

Had to respond to this. If true, it sounds like you overwhelm people (too). There's no shame in that if you are true to your values. If you love yourself, eventually someone will love you back. Stay strong. A good write. Blessings, SF

It is a relatively strong expression that you has used. But that may be your forte. A good job.

Kudos Vrr

This is fantastic! Dignity is ever changing, and ever evolving (especially when it feels like it's abandoned us). Take life one day at a time and change what you can, and don't stress too long about the rest. It will sort itself out! You're on fire jyss, write on.
