This is a day that I despise
nothing is good during this day
I had a fight with a friend

Oh how much I can relate to this!
Sometimes it's not parsing through what one says. Other times it's someone else not parsing through what they think they are receiving.
Most of the time it's not really to give offense, but rather to protect or defend oneself.
It's the cold war, the detent, the walls...
And we all have them, one way or another.
But you put it consisely! Nice work!

very concrete, bad day. I like that!
It's memorable though, at least it is that.
It's not subjective or even quantitative.
It's just bad. You won't look back on it and someday and laugh. You'll always rue this day. End of story.
A string of bad days often gets mired in loose terminology.
