When the workday ends there's nothing in store.
The place is all yours, tidy and quiet;
How do you like your lover's diet?

Pieces of him are left behind;
His book in the bathroom; the sheets intertwined.
Did he get too close with his quiet love?
So what the hell were you frightened of?

Turn instead to the task at hand, to love myself, to understand
To treasure his moment in my life; years of laughter, learning and strife;
Knowing he gave his best to me; scooped up the pieces and set me free.

He gave me more than I was due; Encouraged me to see it through;
And I repaid with childishness this man who loved my bitterness. The whole poem is good, but I just LOVE the last two lines. It's amazing sometimes, the pieces of ourselves that get left behind when we leave. I have a habit of acquiring certain terms of phrase myself. Excellent write! Blessings, SF

Wonderful Jaye!
The last line strikes a chord with me.
You/'/re a very special lady indeed.

James
