Love was an ocean of promises,
Promises made in haste,
Love was a lie most convincing,
Convincing as the stars in the sky,
Love seemed strong and profound,
Profound like the depths of the bluest sea,
Love was the cure for misery,
But Misery loves company,
Love has shown its true colours, temporary as a rainbow arriving with passion and promise,
Promises that it can never keep,
Love has made us foolish,
