We'll talk about ideas and philosophy,
Or make spontaneous love,
Giggle away the hours,
Rather than just cabbage in front of the television.

I love the way you like to think of yourself,
The way you want to be my lover and my bestest friend,
And it feels so darn right when we lie naked together.

You'd rather be sober by the edge of a river,
Than drunk in a smokey bar,
Not that I'm against pubs and clubs,
But I think you'll understand,
Something about understanding REAL beauty,
Not being dazzled by fools gold.

I'll never be fabulously rich, nor horribly poor,
But I know we'll be happy even if we get over drawn,
And in that you'll understand,
That wealth is mainly in the mind,
That ideas and laughter and fun,
Are the true currencies of life.

What can I offer you?
I'm not sure,
What the attraction is from you point of view,
All I know is that sparkling feeling when we touch,
Those butterflies when we meet,
My need to just be with you,
These feelings simply must be repricol.

We'll share both successes and failure,
Giving comfort and support,
Rather than rebuke or punishment,
Never violent, nor shall we ever,
Cause each other pain.

We are like swans, staying together,
Not because of legal ties,
Pride, no rope that binds us,
We'll stay together,
Because its simply more wonderful,
Than it could ever be being apart.

We'll spend years and years together,
And when eventually, we sit by the fire,
All wrinkled and old,
We'll look at what we've become,
Have no regrets, no doubts,
We will look into each others eyes and smile,
We will have become one.

How refreshing to know that your signifigant can make words sound so beautiful and yet so touching at the same time. Of course, your writing allows the piece to be that much more emotional. To have, someone who can express himself on paper, email, or even skywriting (LOL) is quite a treasure. I hope you are together for a long time. I for one would like to have poetry updates on your relationship. Thank you for allowing us to share in your happiness.
* * * Please view and comment on my poetry. I think you will find it just as emotional as inspiring. Love_Letters writes mostly love poetry.
