I’m here with my notepad waiting for that bulb to light,
I've never found it so hard to get out a thought,
So I guess I have to wait for an idea in the web of my mind to be caught,
Wait! An idea, oh but it doesn’t rhyme,
I remember when this used to be a harmless pass time,
But no, express I must and express I shall,
It’s painful but necessary, my literary root canal,
Hey maybe it doesn’t need to rhyme, not all good poems do,
I know it’s there but can’t get it out, like having a rock in my shoe,
Attempting to paint a picture, but instead drawing a blank,
It seems that there are no more fish in my poetic think tank,
As I look into my mind and am faced with an abyss,
I couldn’t think of anything better to share with you guys… but I hope you like this.

Writer's block is but a curtain. As you've proved, words will seep out, nothing to contain them. Speak we must. Very nice write. Thank you for sharing, P

Like a stone in my shoe; boy we all know that feeling! No need to rhyme when your words are so full of rainbows. You speak in images; what a gift.
Thank you for writing when you thought you weren't. You were wrong; you wrote this beautifully.
