Our hellos echo and emphasize a newly discover emptiness
We now longer have the time nor space
To fill these cold and damaged rooms
I understand the difficulty and patience it took
To withstand this "Fixer upper" of a person I am
And I formally thank you for your immense gratitude
But please understand my misconception of the present
That which has metamorphosed into simplicity
I found comfort in the complexity of our abstract relationship
The one filled with confusing gestures and nonchalant compliments
Where did all our symbolism of awkward silences go?
Why can I now sense a tranquil medium?
A calmed sense of being
A "hello" with no analyzing
Something has changed within you
As I locate your tone more surfaced and abraded
I will miss these confrontations of confusion and discontent
For I know you now as friend and instead of metaphorical lover

Wow. It kind of reminds me of when a couple breaks up, and then tries to be friends and things are jsut too wierd. Love it, very cool. :)

In 50 yrs of married life we've been through practically every phase you can think of.

But it is surprising....no.....uncanny how your poem rcognises much of the undercurrent that runs through all of them

An exceptional write
