So I just carried on with life!

I took a walk with my friend and we

Connected on lots of our favourite

Subjects, and empathised our way

Through surviving the, Silly Season.

We looked from the top of hills to

Misty sunlit valleys, to lines of trees,

Gateways to miles of green, and in

The midst of this green ocean we

Find the spire in the distance, a

Landmark for our focus till we are

Lost again in thoughts and ideas

Looking for reasons, for rubber

Stamps, through History and in

Our present lives.

And the walk continues but the friend

Changes and this time I am stomping

My way through muddy fields with friend

And dog. Resting on gates to stare at the

Funny faces of sheep who stare back and

Stomp in indignant pose. Piglets squeal and

Fight for the trough, ponies bathe in muddy

Pools celebrating the recent rains and water

Logged fields. A strange huddle of donkey,

Sheep and horse like missing characters from

Nativity and I am Iiking the squelch of my boots,

The balancing along edges of paths to avoid a

Complete plunge into quagmire.

And my friend sings with familiar oblivion and I

Want to remember!

The World was meant to end today
So I just carried on with life.

Hi Anna,

I'm going to wait until one minute after
midnight, but must admit, I'm getting
incredibly bored. The Earth's not moving
for me today ..... maybe an early night
methinks ................ yawn ....

Oh - by the way - like it!!

Tommy

As did most of us. :)

I can remember as a child the world was ending. I'm fifty-nine years old now.

A woman I worked with was insistent in 1989 that this is it!!! This is the end!!! "Tim, you'll see."

Well, then I survived that end and made my way through to 1996 where yet another oh whoa it's the end of the world for sure this year because really, "it's in the Bible". Now here I am typing a response to yet another very enjoyable poem from the Awesome Anna in 2012.

You just keep getting better and better, do you not? It really sounded like a great place to be. I hated to see it.....(wait for it) ... end.

Thank you very much.
