nothingness
clings to my insides
my ribs forming a cage
& I call out to you
from the hollow center
of a mouth long, uncraved
with words less than tender
& a heart like a stone
I fast for your lost love. . .
I wait all alone

Hi Elle,
Love, like everything else, has a down side ....
loneliness, yearning, pain, with a hint of
unrequitedness - all here in this short but
sweet gem of a poem.

Wow, those last four words input sadness into me ol' heart.
Phew...
So it was hard for me to tell if you're glad or sad that you're done with this part of your life as the rest of it seemed so strong with the finality of a ******** relationship.
Thank you ever consistent one of great poetry! |

Hi elle,
smooth and well-rounded. I don't understand that other comment about caps, but that aside...
a fast is okay for a short time, to appreciate the sustenance when it does arrive, but it doesn't help to dwell too long on lost loves, except to yield their poetic harvest, of course (no good poetry without pain).
it's Christmas, girl - shake it!
