We are different, you and I.

I am what it means to be,
A spoiled angel,
But within me grows a twisted heart of silver and platinum,
Bright and brilliant as a moon should be,
But with the edges of dark and misunderstood devil inside.

You can't bear to look at me.
Spoiled devil, you may be,
Rude and scathing and everything in between,
With a heart of gold and rubies encrusted like blood around it,
Suited to your luxurious needs–
The truth is, though,
What may seem like accusatory knife points, are really,
The edges of angelic tinted good intentions delivered wrongly and sharp.

You are not bad,
I understand,
Just rough in the making.

I am not good,
I understand,
Just too fine and fleeting in thy many's sight.

Not many can see the truth
About the two of us,
Moon and Sun
And respectively ashy gray angel and tainted white devil.

It is this though,
We understand.

You are the demon,
And I am thy angel.
But inside,
We know the truth.

Everything is not as it seems to be.
Do not judge a book by its
Gold-encrusted,
Silver-plated–
Cover.
