[bodytext] => Today I buried a lock box out back, Containing the future that I see. For now to remain hidden away, While she holds the map and key. I paid no particular attention, Of the path that lead me there. There's no desire for me to return, Down a path that leads to nowhere. Inside the box I left behind, All the things I will not need. I placed inside it my heart, So my wounds no longer bleed. I placed inside the box my eyes, So that I longer had to see. While I should have left my mind, That I wouldn't relive her memory. I decided to leave behind my lips, Don't need them without hers to kiss. That last kiss still remained, A reminder of something amiss. These are but a few of the things, That I decided to leave behind. While I face this mountain ahead, Gathering strength to make the climb. Knowing the terrain will be rough, Getting new scars along the way. The journey will be worth it though, If it makes me better than I am today. One foot in front of the other, As I begin to make my ascent. She should know I cherish her still, No feelings of anger or resent. One day I hope she decides, To go look for buried treasure. If she uses her map and key, She'll find a love without measure. Though we are on separate paths, Praying that it won't be forever. Hoping somewhere along the way, Our paths will come back together.
