A lonely time in this life.
Aching for a loving touch,
Something to get through the night.

Blood pressure must be high,
My head continues to pound.
Consistent ringing in my ears,
Unable to hear a sound.

Having a hard time seeing,
Eyes swollen, blood shot red.
I'd rather be with there with her,
I lie here all alone instead.

Sweating but yet still so cold,
Burying myself deeper in covers.
Desperately holding onto hope,
Wanting my friend and lover.

Like a lifelong crack addict,
Or child learning to crawl.
Wanting to make the effort,
But so afraid of the fall.

Stuck in this place purgatory,
Caught between heaven and hell.
Don't know why it bothers me,
For it's a place I know too well.

We all have our times in life,
Take the good with the bad.
I could really use some good,
Tired of always feeling sad.

Just once in this lousy world,
Why can't happiness show it's face.
For just once in my life,
Can I get to a happier place.

I wish I could rip my hear out,
Just split open my chest.
Remove every emotion from me,
Take it all until nothing is left.

I can relate to this a lot. Pain and loneliness radiates in your words. Really great

Great poem.

The last line reverberates for some time after having been read!

Welcome to YPDC.
This is very sad but written like a pro.
I can totally relate.
I find being alone sometimes it's cause if we didn't go thru these things We wouldn't be as good of a writer.
When I go thru the heart aches in life I learn compassion for others then I reach down into the muck and find the good then write.
One thing I do know is that you are not alone in your agony.
Again welcome and keep writing like a pro.
Blessings, huggs,
emy
