Just like before

Our family suffered a tragedy
just a month ago.
The time has flown
but at the same time seemed to slow
but life goes on just the same.

A funeral brought us together
a family that has never been really close.
Dysfunction is an oddity
confusing to most, even I
and I sift through it always wondering why??

For brief moments, we all shared a bit
I hugged my little brother tight
was introduced to three of his children
(I until the funeral had never met)

I stood at the casket of my older brother
with my older sister standing by my side
arms around eachother,
emotions we did not hide,
a river of tears to drown the world in a moment.

I thought, and I wished,
since this had happened
maybe a light would shine through
mend what has been broken
a start over fresh and new....

I held a little hope,
for a few better times ahead
a phone call once in awhile
a I am sorry lets start anew
life is to short, as we now really know....

Nope.... things are going back
Just like before.......

So I am guessing, since everyone is just to busy
and never have time
since everyone rather hold on tight
to things that shouldnt matter
we will all come together again....
at a future time
for another funeral......
and it will be the same
a brief moment of something not real
(But I wished it to be)
to pass the moments away
until its all over.....

Things right back just like before....
Try as I might it makes me feel sad
a heart breaking mess
a fractured heart attack
but life goes on...... just like before
here I sit again....... a tear holding on tight
I will not to fall but it does and it will
just like before.................

sighhhhhhhhhhhh

Another heartfelt tear jerker, Shal. :( Again I am so sorry.

I wonder though. Does life really go on just the same? To me it's not the same. We lose them and life goes on but just the same? Not very sure of that one. Sadness fills us but also the joy of the fondness we still hold for them can give us a smile. But nothing is the same because they're no longer here.

hug guy

There is a hope within us all that things can be fixed and put right and that through tragedy we will pull together. The reality is the painful gap between what we feel in our heart and what is actually happening. This brings confusion and frustration and then the body's only way of releasing that is in the tears. In all of this I hope you can eventually find peace and that you can be comforted in knowing that your words are reaching and will help others who also know this pain.

I understand what you'll are saying. Tears are what waters the flowers. At least that's one of my sayings.
We planed a family reunion a year ago and we had our reunion but It was my oldest sisters burial.
Luv u girl so if you gotta cry then cry.
