Under shady palm I sit, watching the world take it's lazy dance
Sun speckled day meanders from morning to afternoon
Moments therapeutic, slow in passing as golden globe traverses cobalt sky
And solitary butterfly with red tipped wings skims low across the water
Salt sea breeze blows faint ripples in the otherwise tranquil pool
Time is mere distraction, hours lapse in quiet contemplation
But never lost, these moments that purify and soothe the mind
Adorn me with white sunshine, let me bathe in warm surrender
Wash away the silt of discontent that poisons my being
Cloud decked mountains, jewels of serenity feed inspiration
Shape wandering thoughts back into wishes and dreams
Utopia is not some distant fancy, some unresolved ideal
It is here among the rise of dunes that lead down to the ocean
Cliffs soar monolithic, weather beaten edges between land and waves
Nature's own benevolence for those with sight to see
Much more than man made trinkets, these treasures never fade
As worlds evolve and changes leave us ghosts of times gone by
Let us always seek to find a place among the shifting sands

For those with sight to see........the blessing side of a two edged sword of life given as a gift by Nature, I think esp to those who have the sensitivity to write in beautiful poetic lines as you have, mellowing and soothing, connecting to bring calm and solace. |
