for all the wrong i brought to you
if i was a man that would have you believe
that what you see is what you get
i'm sorry yes for the past
but whilst being there i never knew
the present i was in... i didnt realise till its the past
and the past is not so much to late to change
just hard to alter...

if i was a man, that said things i never followed through
i dont think i was... i'm funny like that
do as i say and back up what i believe
i'll be home by eight and i turn up late
droped off home by an anonymous mate
here he comes...in a right oul state...
my watch had stopped... well before eight...

if i was a man you couldnt trust...you know me far to well
i never set out to deceive you... upset you...annoy you
i cant help myself sometimes
opposites attract or so they says
were chalk and cheese in so many ways
we could all walk back to some other days
but if we knew back then... what we know now
who's any wiser, would we be somehow...

if i was a man that cried in front of you
showed you the real me... the one i hide
behind the mask of i'm ok
but when i'm not ok....who do i show myself to?
who's decent enough to be there... to care...

if i was a man that held you at night
not a sinner about... not a soul in sight
no thought to me... i'm holding you
silence, tranquil, "they said its true"
to bare ones soul, to be exposed
pure joy, relief, as apposed
to being what you just cant be
i am the man...the man thats me...
