Do you know this man, this muppet? an environ mental odious puppet!
Not that I would ever seek to blame, a man, for all the sheets of rain.
For all the floods for all the strife, when we should be living the easy life!

So raise your buckets and your pails and show those endless slugs and snails,
Paint the picture with hail and sleet and show him the boots and soggy feet.
Lift your brollies in sheer defiance, together we値l form a rain coat alliance
We値l drag his picture through the mud, as baying hounds we値l seek his blood!

For he was the one who dared to deny, the life of our gardens till earth turned dry!
And he the one who dared to suggest, that everything would turn out for the best!
And ever since he opened his mouth, heavens endless buckets have come down south,
Puddles are ponds, ponds are lakes, torrents and rivers running from his mistakes.

A wanted poster is stuck to the trees, on doors of chemists where we cough and sneeze
And turning over every moss ridden stone, we'll find where he has crawled to his home
For he has robbed us of warmth and cheer, he壇 better not open his mouth next year!
For we will be ready to seal his fate ,with duck tape and glue before its too late!

I hate the term hose pipe. The people here say that.

Nice poem though.

Hi Anna, We were never in any danger of hosepipe bans up here. Got so many fresh water lochs that we even put some of that delicious liquid aside for making whisky! I can understand your anger and frustration that even after months of constant rain the clowns that manage your water supply might still endorse hose-pipe bans on you. A great piece of cynically witty verse. Tommy

Ha ha, I loved this.
I was almost singing the words as I read them at one point, it seems like it should be a song!!
Maybe that's your next move.........turn it into a protest song!!

Steve
