Ode to a Friend

Contributed by Conce4u on Wednesday, 11th July 2012 @ 08:35:43 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

Just like running water from the stream, so fresh clear and clean;
Our friendship is pure, thick and genuine.
Depth of the ocean hides the pearl so precious and rare;
Evil eye on our friendship i seriously fear

You are gentle, warm, sharing and caring;
The concern you show for your friends is really heartening.
In others, your friendship inspires creativity;
Truly, in me it initiated poetry

You are independent, capable of taking care of yourself;
Though, I know, sometimes insecurity gnaws at your inner self
You have a strong reasoning mind of your own;
When required, readily voicing your opinion

Patient ear to a distressed friend you give for ever
But share your innermost turmoil, you will never.
Your temper does at times go soaring;
I guess, that’s the spice, without which life would be boring

To your friends, you are always encouraging,
But, when u are alone, you do lot of soul-searching
I know, you expect lot’s from your true friends that you acquire
But, sadly enough, people are never there when u really require

Every time I am confident that I have known enough of you;
There emerges a trait, which is completely new.
True Friends … you and me will remain till eternity;
But for me, you will always remain an Enigma a Mystery.

I truly enjoyed this. I like your writing style. I lost my best friend last year. You brought her back to me in your words. Thank you for sharing. P

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
