Array ( [sid] => 173320 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Excruciating Difficulty of Forgiving Myself [time] => 2012-07-10 14:55:57 [hometext] => Forgiving myself is the hardest thing I've ever had to do, let alone I still haven't done it. It's just certain things I just can't let go of [bodytext] => Every morning I wake up
I keep one thing in mind
Every person before me has failed
Now I'm next in line
And I care too much to let 'em down
I'm too far from the ground
Can't just stop and fall now

Hopes & dreams are thread and needle
Tryna make a blanket to keep me warm in a world so cold
If forgiveness is spiritual
Then chances are I have no soul
Stories of smiles untold
Laundry of anger unfolds
My mug face on hold like a phone call
This girl, she told me to smile more
Smile at any sucka tryna cause my downfall
In my mind I tell myself "What is there to smile for
When I got this gray cloud over my head causing a downpour?"
Tell me
How can clouds make blood & black rain fall at the same time
Meanwhile I manage to take the "in" outta insane in the meantime
Like I said in my first 5 lines

Every morning I wake up
I keep one thing in mind
Every person before me has failed
Now I'm next in line
And I care too much to let 'em down

No matter how ***** off I am at the world
There's that caring part of me that just won't die
Buried 6 feet, rest in peace, but it just won't lie
What's bringing it back to life
If I knew I'd do something bout it
Because I'm a man yet I'm soft
Men aren't soft because if one is, he doesn't belong
He either gets lost or his life is lost
That's the cost of being soft
I'm sorry to deflate your hopes
But this one life is all I got
You're asking for two but I'm broke
If you wanna get rich quick
Go to the Devil to sell your soul
You'll obtain riches untold
Do I kid you, no
I'm serious bro

Like I said before
Every morning I wake up
I keep one thing in mind
Every person before me has failed
Now I'm next in line
And I care too much to let 'em down
I'm gonna live until I learn to forgive
Forgiveness I give for self-redemption
Then there will be no need for vengeance
Because the ability to love will be avenged [comments] => 1 [counter] => 213 [topic] => 61 [informant] => Blackheart [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )
