Will You Remember?

Contributed by Action567 on Sunday, 10th June 2012 @ 07:57:39 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I am no one special
Nor do I claim to be
But I wonder sometimes
Will people remember me?

People see me everyday
But will they notice if I am not there
Will they ever think of me
Will they even care?

I have friends
And some very special to me
But after a while even to them
Will my memory cease to be?

Time has a way
Of helping people deal
When they lose someone
And the pain that they feel.

When I am gone
And no longer on this earth
I want to leave behind
Something of worth.

Something that will stand out
That people will see
And they will smile
And maybe think of me.

Some people make a difference
And that is what I want to do
I want to make the world a better place
For each and everyone of you.

I want to do something
So people will not forget
I was once here
And maybe someone that they had met.

Maybe one day
Before I go
There will be something I can do
And then people will know.

That yes I was here
But from this earth I did depart
My only hope is that a part of me
Will forever remain in their hearts.

I hope this helps you have a better day. Writing helps as does reading. The remembrance you seek comes from helping others. No fan fare will bring us peace only the realizations we put into action.

Hello,
WoW, I really enjoyed reading this poem you wrote. I use the same writing technique with all of my poems. Your poem has so much meaning and understanding. I think you should write more often! If you look at my poems, you will see we write quite the same. Thanks for sharing this poem and please write more.

Wayne
