My Journey

Contributed by Action567 on Sunday, 10th June 2012 @ 07:43:50 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Today I went into the very depths of my soul
Where I have never gone before
And found out some things
That made me want to know more.

It was scary at first
These things that I did see
But as I looked deeper within
I saw that it was just a part of me.

I saw so many things
The more inside I went
Where was I going
How far was my descent?

Which way to go
Which way do I turn
What will I find out
What all will I learn?

Further and further I plunged
As my excitement grew
My heart was beating wildly
As if there was something that it knew.

So much was rushing at me
I could not comprehend
I knew though
I did not want this journey to end.

It was the adventure of a lifetime
My emotions were going up and down
I wanted to go further in
I did not want to turn around.

Finally I had to stop
A breath I needed to take
But when I did
My journey I could no longer make.

When I opened my eyes and looked in the mirror
A change I did see
There in my reflection
Was a different me.

I cannot explain
This change that came from within
But the more I gazed at myself
I wanted to go on my journey again.

I saw some things
That made me want to know more
I cannot even begin to think
Of what might be in store.

I will go on this journey again
And this time further will I go
Because there is so much more about me
That I really want to know.

Hi again, I love your poems! This is yet another awesome poem by you. You grabbed me and made me feel what you were writing about and made me visualize it as well. That takes talent with a twist of words!! keep it up.
