Array ( [sid] => 172658 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Thunder rolls [time] => 2012-05-25 22:18:07 [hometext] => We rarely hear the thunder living here, tonight we have had a storm and the thunder has constantly rolled and no funnel clouds yeyyyyy [bodytext] => I heard you faintly in the distance
overtaking the city noise.
Faint rumble, growing stronger
booming through the pines.

I didn't believe it at first
thought my ears deceived me
thunder? it couldn't possibly be.
Oh yes it was, voices in the clouds.

Sparks streaking cross the gray
pine trees in the wind began to sway.
Wind chimes not silent now
nature's melody on display.

I felt the wildness in the air
it sent shivers down my spine.
I was peering in the sky
for a funnel cloud nearby.
No, not one.... just an off the wall storm.

I didn't realize, just how much I've missed
the boiling sky and clouds
and the thunders load rolling sentiments
speaking it its voice, making my world shake
thunderous and large, Heaven's mighty quake

I'm in love with this night
and the rain tumbling down hard
wind in the pines,
chimes sounding off their bells
and the thunder rolls
call of nature resting in my soul.

Very interesting. I like the way you took the reader there with you. I love the intensity of thinking, oh crap, a ***** tornado!!! Then relief it wasn't. I could almost smell the rain.

Thank you.

Tim

Beautiful! it was said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Yet using very few words you created a painting in my mind and the painting was moving and this painting was so clear, so vivid it was a masterpiece!!!

brings a quote I''ve read to mind:It is pleasant, when the sea is high and the winds are dashing the waves about, to watch from the shores the struggles of another.

There is nothing quite so refreshing as loud booming thunder as the rain crashes and dances upon the ground... while you close your eyes and feel it splash your face.

Sorry :p I got lost in the moment. Quite a beautiful poem. It reminds me of my childhood when I would walk outside and just sit in the rain to think. I don't know why i don't still do that.
