Array ( [sid] => 172564 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => PSALM [time] => 2012-05-18 10:46:14 [hometext] => The 2001 Gujarat earthquake occurred on January 26, 2001, India's 52nd Republic Day, at 08:46 AM local time (3:16 UTC) and lasted for over two minutes. [bodytext] => PSALM

Crushed concrete
Spoiled buildings
Shifted rails, but
no where a life found

Hanging wires, but
not having power
Slanting posts, but
not the leaning Pizza.

All fragmented, but
I found me, the one
who have saved
from among the rest

The hot sun burns to fire
I got weak and felt thirsty
I felt guilty, for
I am not died.

The rush I felt
not of friends
but only bodies
fully dead bodies

I walked into death
where I can see my friends,
have my water and
have my shelter

I got weak, so not fast
I have to run to reach
But for that I have to rise,
rise just from the dust.

I fully exhausted
so lied down
resting my head
on a red hot block

Then I opened my eyes
and saw my dear, near
The blue sky,clear and mild
winds with soothing fragrance;

I felt it's my new life [comments] => 3 [counter] => 117 [topic] => 14 [informant] => kvsangeeth [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DreamsandWishes )

Beautiful tribute and remembrance song for the victims of the terrible earthquake.
I myself wrote a poem while the earthquake was going on. It is called Pyres and Tears.
Its here below for you to read.

Poetry can leap over the language barrier and your heart is felt very stongly through this.I love the last verse of hope, of a way forward after such devastation and heartache.I could not write half as well as this in a language that was not my mother tongue.
