Array ( [sid] => 172380 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => How many times? [time] => 2012-05-06 07:43:07 [hometext] => This is a poem I wrote after a recent failure. Its good to remember that no matter how many times I mess up, my God is always willing to forgive and help me back to my feet. :) [bodytext] => How many times must I fall?
Before I can learn to do what it takes-
How many times must I crash?
Before I will learn to use these breaks?

How many times must I fall?
Before I can learn to stop failing my King-
How many times must I call?
Before I hear more than my own voice, echoing?

I'm defenseless-
It's relentless.

This Darkness is pressing down on me-

I resent this-
But I can't repent this.

When will I learn to stop failing my King?

How many times must I fall?
Before I learn to stand on two feet-
How many times must I try?
Before I can learn to overcome this defeat?

Maybe THATS my problem here-
Maybe I've been cursed.
Maybe I really CAN'T do it on my own-
Maybe I've been doomed from my birth.

Or maybe I've just been asking the wrong question...

How many times MUST I fall?
Before I will learn to accept a hand up-
How many times MUST I fall?
Before I discover I CAN'T climb this wall?

How many times MUST I fall?
Before I learn to finally get help-
How many times MUST I fall?
Before I realize I CAN'T do it all?

I don't have the answers, but...

How many times must I learn?
That every time I fall is just another chance-
How many times must I learn-
That falling's just a tumble into God's open hands.

So how many times must I fall?
As many as it takes. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 217 [topic] => 32 [informant] => TCK [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

success is not the result but a process but falling is a result not a process. failure is the stepping stone for success you learn more about anything or even about you. nice write
