The empyrean speaks to me.
Alas the frightful, yet, calming insightful,
A disposition, free from apathy.

Why always in twilight, the gentle encroaching night,
Do blights of torment, find sympathy.
To emancipation, by an act of aberration,
For a moment, my sins are free.

Perhaps Selene, in her smile so serene,
Pardons the fool, with amnesty.
To be silent and embrace, what leaves no trace,
Disturbs not, this rapture in me.

In the midst of alone, forthcoming I condone,
What the day would not let me see,
Unforetold pleasure, within such colorless treasure,
Bequeathed in stillness, I can finally be. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 129 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Archaeus6 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

This is a work of some talent. I'll admit I had to look up more than a word or two on this one. I'll also admit it was difficult for me to grasp the essence of what you were saying though that is more my fault than yours. These things which are hidden in the light of day reveal themselves in the evening. I appreciate the work and detail you've put into this. Sadly , and often , the more complex , subtle and ingenious the work the less the audience that is able or willing to appreciate said work. That , sadly , speaks volumes on the state of the human animal. The more dumbed down and generic the work...the more it speaks to the lowest common denominator and the more popular it becomes...i.e Big Time Rush , Miley Cyrus and other , O' so popular , pop culture abominations. Nevertheless , please never dumb yourself down for the sake of attention. Pop icons become toilet fodder often within the span of a week but true art conquers the centuries. Great work , truly , Doug

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
