The Girls of Sorority Q

Contributed by norm on Thursday, 8th May 2003 @ 01:25:00 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

We are in a dormitory
Where all the women dwell
Which brings me right up to the story
I'm about to tell.

The ladies came from far and wide
Bringing clothes and make-up,
Also bringing psuedo pride
With mores that can shake up.

These women are what e'er they are,
They are our future leaders,
It's true that some don't fit the bill
They better know egg beaters.

These women are for most part smart
Most graduate with honors,
But high school days play not the part
Keep sharp or they are goners.

They really must sit down and learn,
Their daddies paid the bill,
When they go home their real concern
Is..daddy just might kill.

We know they did matriculate
Four years went fast like wow,
Now it's time to graduate
and face the future... How?

I may be right. I may be wrong,
to try to see the future,
The bravest thing that they should do
is try not be a moocher.

The wise ones used their time to sell
They'll find a gent by Monday,
All culminates with church's bell
Good luck to all and sundry.

Think you I know what they will do
They all might display genius,
But most will set out just to woo
Their classmate fellow seniors.

There will be claims I'm chauvinistic
I'm just a guy who winks and blinks,
Which I think is quite simplistic,
Know I what a woman thinks?

Next,next.....
Thou art the bravest knight Sir Norm
to set about this vex-ed storm
not with feint heart do thou fight
in truth it gave me quite a fright
to see thee flail the femail castle
wherin I feared there may be hassle
Too near the truth thy blade has struck
and only one has tried her luck

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
