a sea of love letters from a happier time
when love was full, and life had rhyme,
where passion soared, and kisses too
each warm one longer, all accrued,
saved within' love's sweet sentiment
kept; each and every that was sent,
these love letters will not be forsook
'twas much happiness the love partook,

and one would love to do it all again
to feel the love burning lovingly within',
oh no, they weren't written all for nought
dear love that gave, love's breath besought,
these old love letters will be saved; or;
shared through poetry to another's shore,
heartfelt writes that came to an impasse'
'twas love flown by, passed now, whereas;

so instead of seeing this true love as dead
far better it be; to let love live and be read,
from deepest souls, sweet love was gave
could one throw such letters upon the waves?
some day these letters will be old memories
if they are not tossed out, within' depth of seas,
floating endlessly upon memory; alas engraved?
'twas not e'er one love letter that was misgave,

a sea of love letters from happier times
when life was full, and love shined rhymes,
where passions grew, and kisses too
each warm one longer, 'til away love flew,
saved within' love's sweetest sentiments
when heart's had purpose and love was meant,
this sea of love letters will not be forsook
'twas much happiness within', that love partook.

i like... love letters, even the ones that were never sent, hold a truth that can't be erased simply because the love itself no longer exists...

Ahh Nessa ... this is delightful ... so beautifully written ... I have a weakness for love poems with the slightly old fashioned way of writing. It is also a nice way of writing about all the love letters you must have - I could never throw mine away either - they are so precious ... hugs Jan

Beautiful with imagery and emotion as well.
