but the cold reality
is she's a spring chicken
like she use to be
it had been awhile since I saw her
for sometime now she'd been mad
but today when I saw her
it really was sad
age is catching up to her
I hoped this day would never come
I love her so very dearly
she's the cause of all I've done
even writing poetry
when I was a child
she was alway's writing for us
poem's always sweet & mild
I stooped down by where she sat
gave her a hug & said I love you
is there anything you need
or anything I can do
she said in a gentle voice
although her pride get's in the way
something is wrong with my car
but it will be okay
well I went out & fixed her car
I told her now it should be fine
it was just some small adjustment's
it took very little time
then I went back to sit with her
I could tell she was weak
she said that I love you son
but I need to go to sleep
so I kissed her & I hugged her
& said I Love you very much
& as I held her hand
I felt the coldness in her touch
it really hurt's to know it
It's not so far away
she say's that God is calling
in her own precious way
I tried to over look
the words she said to me
I said mom I love you so much
& that will always be
so let me say this to all
if you mother still around
take the time to show you love her
& never let her down
I love you mom yours always the hot shot poet
