The joy and the confusion that permeates our daily lives.
The hunger which goes before us, borne on our thoughts and influences, yearning for a peace which is not to be had.
It is our bread when we have need of such.
It is our dress against a biting cold and haunting indifference.
It can make us lust, it can make us love.
It dwells in all of us, bringing us ever closer to our ultimate happiness, through the sadness of life and the ignorance of abusive loneliness.
It calls out to us.
Sometimes, it is a loud , frenzied screaming.
Other times, it is merely a whisper, breathed so softly into our ear, that we would surely miss it, had it not been so insistent.
It fires us and inspires us, driving us in directions fresh and uncharted.
It lays at our feet, a path of beguiling wonderment and uncertainty.
It provides us when we are without that which we seek but know not why, what we must have, despite any reluctance to holding it to our breasts after seeking it out.
It is a common name.
For we all know it.
Plastered in huge, almost garish script, on all of our souls.
My name for you, dearest one,
is
Desire. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 161 [topic] => 2 [informant] => reprobate [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

Really cool poem. Everyone has a different definition of a dream, and you do well pointing it out, and giving it a real name, Desire. As it should be.

Well done!

Invierno
