Humbling plea,
And tiny feet grow nimble quick, from jaws of
Death to flee.
Tiny eyes to worldly matters, wider still and wide.
Childhood dreams in tiny years, soon to be denied.

Darkness falls where life was good and home was
Warm delight.
Driven now from crumbling walls, their hearts now
Learn to fight.
Tiny eyes can cry no more for noone stems their tears!
And noone can return to them, all their forgotten years.

Tiny arm waves, for many a greeting, for which the
Reward is a smile.
A stump is the other,a constant reminder the victim
Of actions so vile,
Tiny hearts once with forgiveness soft, harden with their fate
Revenge as scattered seed is sown, ploughed in fields of hate.

Tiny bodies from which power of choice, as with life is snatched
By a mine.
Could somebody answer? could somebody tell? for the loss of their
Life what's their crime?
Tiny lives once so full of fun, lay buried beneath adult decision
But who has the right? to turn out the light, on their future vision.

Hi Anna,

In every war they are what the warlords call
''collateral damage.'' Such a cold and
thoughtless statement for the destruction of
innocence.

Well done, Anna, for raising this sometimes
forgotten issue. Very moving and tugs the
heartstrings.

Tommy
