My head filled with words to say
Took several seconds to remember
She died on the 12th of November

My heart went crashing once again
I miss her terribly, my best friend
Can't believe that she's really gone
Suppose to be here where she belongs

Miss the sound your smiles would make
Miss sharing the pictures we'd alway take
Miss the way you'd make my pain go away
Miss how you'd explain that life would be okay

I see in my heart the golden wings you wear
Your face in Love's light, your smile you share
It was your time, yet you left us far too soon
I miss you so much, yet hear you sing Love's tune

I'll see you again someday, this my anchor
I'll save the stories, remember the pictures
We'll laugh, talk, and dance together

This poem was beautiful. I once lost a friend and it hurts to know they aren't here. But as your poem ended you made it clear that there will be the day when we're all united again. Lovely poem!

Tears sprang to my eyes after only a few lines. But the hope you shared in that last bit of seeing her again kept them from falling. Wonderful write, I'm so glad you shared this one.
