The salt scores my heart with barren holes
My eyes look down, behold the bloodstain
No measure for damage to my wretched soul

Words can't carry the sounds I scream
Pictures don't exist to describe my torment
Nightmares dominate my land of dreams
Don't understand why this was sent

Deep within the hidden recess
Pain tears away pieces that can't heal
Scars bear witness, stories never cease
God help me, I don't know how to feel

Wonder on forever, what will be my relief
Search for the cure that stops the anguish
Losing a grip on myself and all I believe
Will I survive this game to the finish

Death seems like sweet silent sleep
Can I wait until it's really my turn
No one around me that will weep
Go now, yes, no, fear of the no return

Somewhere in the back of my brain
I know today's pain may soon pass
Tomorrow has yet to sing its glory refrain
Perhaps happiness lies within my grasp

Hang on sweet child, relief may be coming
Pain and hurt can only be carried so far
On the morrow, hope's song you're humming
Your future brighter than the nearest star [comments] => 2 [counter] => 95 [topic] => 75 [informant] => dvtpdw [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => anguished )

I'm glad it's made clear in your poem it gets better. So many forget this. Very great poem. The wording structure made me feel exactly on that level. Well done.

I am also glad that you have faith and that you made it clear that the darkness still changes to light. I'm sure writing helps a great deal. If so, keep at it. I am continually becoming more of a fan. :) Best Wishes,
Gabriel (bookgoddess)
