[bodytext] => Life begins mindless of love's addition or subtraction It continues to grow with no regard to passion Expanding ever outward toward the inevitable end Brought forward, pleasure disguised as pain it sends Children are born with innocence and purity Knowing nothing of evil, in this lays their surety Their needs are simple, requiring only nurture Love, hope, promise bring forth their future Hard to comprehend the lack that some feel Makes no sense how their heart turns to steel No words exist that can provide the answer Mother or father not caring about their disaster Sperm or egg alone does not a parent create It's what's in your heart that does a parent make A true parent will always put their child above all They'll kiss away the pain, prevent the fall How easy for you to close your heart away What in you blocks love's light from the day Walking away from a child that carries your mark Your soul and mind must be so very dark Pondering this breaks my shattered heart more Watching his face crumble as you walk out the door Knowing now, as unreasonable as it may sound He'll always love you, by life's ribbon you're bound I'll be the hope that cradles his crushed soul I'll be here with unending love no matter my toll Make no mistake, you'll pay the ultimate price You've placed your bet on the wrong roll of the dice Selfishness and bleakness may long be your friends You may think you're headed to a rainbow end Parents who throw their children away with no thought No redemption, forgiveness for them will be sought [comments] => 1 [counter] => 68 [topic] => 75 [informant] => dvtpdw [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => anguished )
