Daddy why are you so sad?
Please tell me that you're okay.
Daddy, why are your eyes all wet?
Is there something you need to say?

I've never seen you cry Dad,
You're so big and brave and strong.
But Daddy you're kind of scaring me.
Daddy! Tell me what's wrong!

Yes Daddy, i know you love me,
And I love you too.
But what's this about missing me?
I'm right here with you!

I know Mummy's gone right now,
But I'm sure that she'll be back.
This is all just a big mistake.
Daddy, why am I packed?

Where am I going? Why am I leaving?
Daddy, I'm so confused.
No Daddy, don't make me leave!
I simply won't, I refuse!

Daddy, please stop crying,
You're making me cry too.
Because Daddy if you're this sad,
What am I suppose to do?

Dad, your always there for me,
Telling me it's alright.
Well now i guess its my turn.
Daddy - we'll be 'right.

I just heard someone at the door,
I go and unlock the hatch.
Look Daddy, it's Mummy!
See I told she'd come back!

But wait, where are her things?
Her clothes and jewellery and brush?
Mummy, what's going on?
Mummy! what's, the rush?

No Mummy, I don't want to go,
You're making Daddy sad.
Mummy, just stop and listen!
Please stay with me and Dad!

She grabs my bags, and puts me in the car,
What am I suppose to do?
In all of the panic, all i can manage,
Is a 'Daddy, I love you.' [comments] => 3 [counter] => 124 [topic] => 23 [informant] => Buzz-Ace [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FamilyPoems )

Your words brought tears to my eyes and a tug to my heart. So much pain. Sometimes, adults don't realize just what it does the the child. Great, great write. Thank you for sharing.
