No one to love, no place to call home
I had my lows and trying times
But I kept on going, kept following the signs

I knew there was hope in the world out there
I had to keep going, I had to care
I wanted to stop, I wanted to quit
But I needed to find the place where I fit

You came into my life when I needed it most
I could write a thousand lines, trying to boast
Of your beauty and your grace
Your loving nature and ever-smiling face

I take my time; I’m not like the rest
I wanted you to feel loved and that you were the best
You needed to know how I felt and cared
But our love was something that was never shared

You mistook my actions in the worst kind of way
You thought I was indifferent and I caused you dismay
I tried to fight, to keep you by my side
Losing you… I felt like I had died

So where do I go from here?
Sitting alone, comprehending the pain, anger and fear
I don’t know what’s next, I don’t know if I care
I don’t want to pick myself up, I don’t want to dare

This is life; a constant losing game
We find something to hold onto but in the end it’s all the same
A never ending disappointment, a million shattered dreams
Trying to enjoy just enough to quell the festering screams

I’m losing my will; I’m oh so very tired
I can’t hold on after all that’s transpired
Only the future will see what will become of me
A broken soul with a desperate plea
