This person that transcends gravity
That across the ocean walks
And doesn’t sink
Who by forces unknown
Turns simple water to wine
For many to drink
Who are you
That breaks bread enough for two
And feeds twenty
that after three days dead
rises to tell me
that my wrongful deeds
are forgiven
because He
is your father and
Commanded it to be
Who are you
Just another character
In a story
Told to control the masses
A piece of ancient history
A fable to ensure that we
Stay like sheep
To a shepherd
Never to be free
To think for ourselves
To eventually see
That there’s more to God
Than what man would have us believe
For God is a higher state of consciousness
That we all can achieve
The next step in evolution
The Buddha found
while meditating under a tree
because when we follow
all that we see
is the person ahead of us and
what they’d have us believe
as long as you follow
you enslave yourself to ignorance
never to be free
ask questions
think for yourself
and you’ll find the key
that unlocks
the next stage in humanity
that we are all connected
like roots to a tree
playing a minuscule role
in an expansive galaxy
gatherers of knowledge
so that one day we'll be
able to let go of our egos
and understand that we
are all cogs in
a bigger machine

...
or maybe you’re real
and I’m screwed

An intelligent and thought-provoking write. You express your thoughts so well. Each to their own, but we all have a duty to question.
The super-ego is my god.
