It’s always better to be asked can you do something, than being told to do it
Like, when you’re young, you’re told the rules
The does, the don’ts and the reasons why, you should do as you are told
But now I’m old, I know a lot more
I’ve got my own life
I make the rules
No need to tell me, ask me things
I have earned respect, so give me some
Or I’ll kick you up the bum

It’s always better to be asked can you do something, than being told to do it
Like, when you’re young, you’re told the rules
The does, the don’ts and the reasons why, you should do as you are told
But now I’m old, I know a lot more
I’ve got my own life
I make the rules

Me be thinking you're not a violent person so there would be no bum kickings but then again, I am frequently wrong.
