TIME TRAVELER’S ADVENTURES #9

I was polishing the tailpipe and leaned over too far,
Falling into the seat, hitting the backward year bar.
Before I could fathom just what I had done,
I was looking right into a new morning sun.

Everywhere that I looked I saw awesome new sights,
Like predators resting peacefully and new birds of flight.
Lions and tigers were playing with lambs,
Then I heard a voice echo, “I Am That I Am!”

A man and a woman walking toward a great stream,
The man ranting and raving and talking quite mean!
The woman adorned in fig leaves big and small,
And except for those coverings wore nothing at all.

An angel appeared, flaming sword in his hand,
Shouting “And Stay Out, You and every other man!”
“You must work now for food and even kill what you’re eating!”
My goodness I’d stumbled into the Garden Of Eden!

I saw a beautiful serpent as he was cast outside too,
But the minute he had left, he turned ugly and shrewd.
He bit at both the heels of the man and the woman.
I knew he’d be coming after every other human.

The animals all peaceful just a few moments ago,
Were growling and roaring as they left their garden home.
Square teeth now were pointed and sharpened right there,
So the tearing of flesh would be the food they would share.

A Lamb would be sacrificed to save this lost race.
In the Garden Of Eden, no more was man’s trace.
An angel placed there as God’s guard and envoy,
Until the Garden will reopen for man to once again enjoy!

Saddened at the observing of all our father’s first shame,
I knew from hindsight reading, hardships began for them that day .
You see, they once were perfect, but for a time they had to be,
An awful lot like the sinners found inside of you and me!

Time travel be a very tricky and touchy thing so you gotta be very very careful. It has been said that even stepping on a bug accidently could change the course of history, so who knows... it could be all due to you hitting that dag nab forward year bar that messed this all up. Perhaps the distraction flinched Adam into taking a bite of that apple!!! Just sayin', ya' never know! wink
