Sun beaming put sparkle in her hair.
Yes, I can see them good ole days
From sun up to sun down we'd play

Out away from city lights we'd roam.
Country days in our country home.
Life so simple, free, we'd roam and play
Long ago our carefree country days.

In the neighbors creek we'd swim
Everything so simple back then.
Chasing fireflies after dark
We was happy as a meadow lark.

To the garden we'd roam free
Picking fresh tomatoes to eat
Gathering eggs from the pen
Oh how I miss days back then.

I come from a country background as well
with plowing, cows, horses, pigs, and chickens,
and some great memories of those hard but
good days. Thank you for this write and for all
of your sweet comments here at YPDC!
Blessings, Rob

Ah, if only we could go back. NICE!!!

Ever see the Twilight Zone where they all turn back into kids when they play kick the can? Maybe we can go back. Maybe that's heaven.

I miss those days too. I felt the country air all over again. Days of youth always remain, I/'/m glad you/'/re writing /'/bout those days of yours. This poem has the flow of a song without a chorus. I enjoy it as it is.

Reminded me of Heidi somehow. These days I am pausing more and more and wondering how worthwhile living in the City really is when there is no clean air to breathe. Your poem took me to an idyllic place where I long to be :) Great write , may we all be as happy as larks and may you too get your drop of country sunshine !
