Those who constantly reap the benefits handed to them by masses,
They’re never the ones whom stand on their own legs self-sustained
A broken hidden world of tattered feelings that linger in the void
These true ideologies that have been passed down to those following us
Like a rolling waterfall of the painful truths and the all too true pain.
Make this, an understanding; I am not here out of want, though I want it.
Neither is it a need but what can I call this masochistic, sadistic feeling empowering me.
It has been given many names, and even though I saw you and I see them
The images of what I think should be and I want to be.
Your perspective is skewed and sees a world where I don’t belong
I may fit the role but the role never fits me.
So is life and so are we.
Where did our roads divide and when will they bond again?
Is it worth it, this pain I go through every day, though we all go through it
So we make mistakes and rape our beliefs, so we do these wrongs and dishonesties.
Where does this leave us at the end of the day?
Our life pulled to shreds and our minds in disarray.
A cacophony of misguided unknowing impressions and lead on’s
My god why did I listen to every word, was it true, am I?
Time and time, rhyme after rhyme my mind ravaged by all the signs
Leading us together to converge once more, this time more than a minute
Please don’t act like you never felt it,
And if you didn’t and I am wrong then why did you ever play along.
I’ll tell you why because you won’t admit, you hoped and you dreamed what would become of it.
A smile and a glance and dream and a trance, a hand to hold and a mind to tap
Why am I admitting these things because, I know you and see you through all the trees.
I never had my sights stray, and from that now know what I want most
What benefit do we gain from all of these awkward moments that may lie ahead?
To know what’s never coming but we still truck a head. All the hope in my life that I hold today
It may never blossom; it will never sprout, and will die time and time again.
How do we know the answers to life’s hidden questions?
Answer this for me and maybe for us, answer this please for one day you must.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
