To be venerated, for this muse that we ride.
Our poems of hope, happiness and fears,
To go on after us, when we’ve outlived our years.

Future generations to read and debate,
To grasp our work, and to our words relate.
The poet’s ambition is built, not on pride,
But the hope to touch someone, deep down inside.

The words are our paint, our canvas the ‘net,
Our masterpiece exposed, for the world to connect.
An artist in meanings, rhythm and rhyme,
Double-entendres and subtleties sublime.

I speak to you all, my fellow sculptors of words,
We all share a passion, a longing to be heard.
Your comments are welcome, from feedback we gleam,
Little pearls of wisdom, to help achieve a poet’s dream.

Excellent. A great expression of poetic philosophy, the need to reach into another's mind and let them see what we see.

Nail on the head. It tells the tale and purpose of a poets use of words and sounds to convey feelings and thoughts. That's why I started writing - to let myself heal. Excellent use of rhyme and imagery. Very nice. Great great write. Thank you for sharing.
