You seek out my demons, I won’t let you near.
Something’s are better, if they are left unsaid,
To know too much, could turn love to hate instead.

I’m not proud of the past, I try to bury it inside,
There are things that to no one, I can confide.
Don’t take it wrong, we all have our past,
Mine must stay hidden, if we are to last.

Maybe in the future, if our lives our still entwined,
I will share with you the memories, buried in my mind.
When we are forever, and our love deep and true,
Then I will try and tell you everything, I owe it to you.

I hope you understand, there are things you just can’t know,
Not right now, let’s give our love a chance to grow.
When you are ready, if you can accept the secrets I bequeath,
Then the time will be right, for me to tell you what lies beneath.

unfortunately i have found that very few people can love strongly enough to see past a person's faults. That was a gorgeous poem. What lies beneath...Very poetic.
