Words and Seeds

A word, a seed
Planted in my mind, my heart
A cruel word
Laid down next to another
And another
And I feel the seed take hold
In the fertile soil of my petitioning mind
The root tingles and stings
As it forges penetration
It bores
And locks itself
Nourished by the darkness
And solitude
A life cannot begin without a seed
And I know the richness
Of a virulent and benevolent amalgamation
I am called to look down and up
Inside and out
Onward and backward
Tending to the details of the black fodder
More scrupulously
Mind this malicious seed!
And regard its implantation
Without resignation
With reconciliation
