All my young years I felt different,
Alone, seeing so much in what was
Wanting so much to share
But the difference was always there

Expressed in shyness and intellect
Combined in the words I could not speak
But only write in the poetry of my mind.

Believing that there was no one else,
No one that saw, no one that cared
But it was not true

As I grew and began my ramble
Through the world,
Through love unrequited and love attained,
Through war and poverty,
With children and the wealth of family
I found many like me

So many we became a family of sorts
United in fraternity of expression,
To know the truth of happiness and desire,
That the self’s worth in the mind of others
Will be seen only if we dare to be open to all
Without thought of ourselves

I deeply appreciated your powerful thoughts here and the way you've transcribed them into a current of flowing truth. I found the term "fraternity of expression," to be very empowering for not just those whom your poem is likely aimed at but for people who struggle to live open with their thoughts. We all need an outlet for our struggles, our triumphs, and our tragedies. It is not human to bottle in our expressive natures. We poets, know this all too well.

BRAVO!
