feathers, a tail, a brain in my head.
A brain made for feeling and loving and caring,
no control over the body that this spirit was placed in.

You came to this planet 2 legs, erect and tall,
your brain is for technology, science and all.
You too had no choice of the body you own,
together we are both made of flesh, nerves and bone.

I roam around this world, I’m wild at heart,
you build big enclosures that keep us apart.
I feel pain and suffering, like you do too,
I love and I hope that my dreams will come true.

I used to swim freely, I used to run fast,
through rivers and jungles and lands of tall grass.
I used to climb trees, sit high up atop,
I watched your advancement and how you forgot.

Forgot that once, we could live side by side,
without you wanting my horns, my fur or my hind.
Worst of all, you now want my home,
it will not be long before the Earth is your own.

With no hatred or anger we can not fight back,
you the knowing, us the innocent, you wondered from the track.
You the strong, us the vulnerable, how can this be?
Make a change for the better and set us all free.

What will you exploit once we are gone?
You’ve done it with nature and each other on and on.
I have only one wish, that again you could see,
Consider are oneness, take mercy on me [comments] => 1 [counter] => 83 [topic] => 43 [informant] => dannye103 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

We are called Mankind.
We're selfish it's true.
Perhaps we should have
Learned the Language better,
Of Oink, Cluck and Moo!

I really enjoyed this poem.
Great wisdom here.
Blessings,
Robert Edgar Burns (Rob)
